A cousin once asked me “What is it that I want to do? What motivates me? What’s my dream?”. My response was simple and plain, I told him to help people. There is nothing more fulfilling to me than that smile of confidence a person can have at the end of a heart filled conversation that probably started with words of no, don’t, and can’t. Everyone at some point will need some assistance, the person trying to land a job to pay the bills or the mid-level executive determined to get over the hump. That response might have been too simple for him to comprehend and not lavish enough to spark his interest but maybe a poem can explain it better for everyone (including my cousin).
Come to the Edge by Guillaume Apollinaire
Come to the edge.
No, we will fall.
Come to the edge.
No, we will fall.
They came to the edge,
He pushed them,
And they flew.
My drive, my passion, my God-given right is to push everyone around me to do better!
God help me to push others so they can FLY!
Awesome!!!
Love the about section. It’s a good reminder to not be afraid of the edge. If we never push ourselves past our comfort zone, we’ll never know what we can accomplish.
